Main festivals celebrated in the temple are

1. Thiruvutsavam

It is celebrated on a grand scale In the month of Dhanu for ten days, with the last day as Thiruvathira, the birthday of Lord Shiva.This festival is associated with special poojas, taking the diety outside the temple, presentation of temple art forms like Kathakali, Dance programmes, vocal recital etc. Utsavabali , to please Upadevathas and parivaraprathishtas Is conducted on the eighth day. Pakalpooram Is on the ninth day and the procession starts from Cherathrikkovil Sreekrisna Swamy temple.

RAVEENDRA SANGEETHOLSAVAM is conducted every year on a Sunday for a fullday during this festival to commemorate the famous Music Director Sri Raveendran Maash. Large number of famous and eminent singers take part in this.

2. POURNAMI PONKALA

This festival is also celebrated on a grand scale, and lasts for 8 days ,with the last day on which Ponkala is offered, coming as the Full moon day in the month of Medom. Ponkala Is offered to Parvathi Devi and thousands of lady devotees take part in this festival. Various cultural programmes am arranged during this festival. Divya Theli Darshanam and procession starts from Perandoor Devi Temple, Palarivattom and this Is conducted on the seventh day of the festival. One full day is kept apart during this festival for NRITHOTSAVAM In which, large number of professional as well as emerging dancers take part.

Competition In Thiruvathirakali is another cultural programme organized during this festival.

3. SIVA PURANA SAMEEKSHA

This Is basically a Jnana Yajna In which Sivapuranam (legends and stories of Lord Shiva) Is recited and narrated by eminent Acharyas. It lasts for eleven days and the concluding day will normally be on the previous day of Prathishta Dinam. MAHARUDRAM Is also conducted along with Sivapurana sameeksha.

4. PRATHISHTA DINAM

This falls on the third Mithunam. Special poojas and dharas are conducted on Shiva Lingam and Nandi on this day.

5. NAVARATHRI CELEBRATIONS

Navarathri is celebrated for nine days on a grand scale. Emerging singers, dancers and other artists make use of these days to present the art they learnt. On Vijayadasami day, Ezhuthiniruthu (Vidyarambham) is very important here. NAVAKUMARI POOJA ,is a special pooja organized during this festival every day in the evening In which girls in the age group of 2 to 10 years are worshipped in different forms (BAVA) of DEVI each day. Hundreds of girls take part in this and get blessed.

6. MAHA SIVARATHRI

On this day ,special poojas, 5001 Kudam Dhara, Ekadasa Dravya Abhishekom using various materials etc., are performed.

7. RAMAYANAMASACHARANAM

The month of Karkkidakom is observed as Ramayana masom every year. Akhanda Ramayanaparayanam is conducted on the first and last day of the month.

Arrangements are made for devotees to recite Ramayanam daily inside the temple during this month.

8. KARKKIDAKAVAVUBALI

Thousands of devotees get together In this temple on Karkkidakavavu day to offer bali to their ancestors who passedaway. Facilities for conducting PITHRUNAMASKARAM and KOOTTANAMASKARAM every month on the Amavasi day is available

9. MURAJAPA HOMAM

MURAJAPA HOMAM is being conducted along with Thiruvutsavam from the year(2013) onwards. This special ritual lasts for three days.
